Matt Adams--HCC
Mr. Adams received a grant to support the development of an Industrial Vehicle Safety Training Program for Hinds Career Center students. The funding will provide essential safety equipment such as harnesses, PPE, and training materials so students can learn proper safety procedures while working with equipment like forklifts, man-lifts, and skid steers.
This project will give students valuable hands-on experience while reinforcing an important lesson: safety comes first in every workplace.
Megan Luyet--EJSHS
Mrs. Luyet teaches family and consumer science courses at Elwood Jr Sr High School and applied for a grant to help support her classroom with supplies she needs to be able to continue to grow her classes and provide authentic cooking experiences for her students.
Mike Retherford--EJSHS
Mr. Retherford teaches high school math at Elwood Jr Sr High School and wishes to bring his love of music and specifically guitar playing to the students by creating a club and teaching basic guitar lessons to students. He hopes to be able to expand this into a potential class in the future. Good luck Mr. Retherford, we can't wait to hear the students in action!
